Historic Burma Road Chapel

The Burma Road Chapel is full of history and has had many lives. After the war, the chapel was home to the United Methodist Church. Later, the building was deeded to the City of Unalaska with restrictions that it be used for City purposes. The facility then became the school gymnasium, with the team adapting its shooting style to accommodate for the rafters above. However, the chapel is best known as the community's place to gather for special events.

For many years, the City of Unalaska's Department of Parks, Culture, and Recreation Center (PCR) was housed here. It moved into the community center in 1995, after which the chapel became home to the City Library...until the new library opened on August 2, 1999. Today, the chapel houses the local radio and television stations. It is also home to the Unalaska/Port of Dutch Harbor Convention & Visitors Bureau.
