Alaska Marine Highway
(ferry service)
The ferry stops in Unalaska once a month from April to October. Its
a great way to see the Alaska Peninsula and part of the Aleutians with stops in King Cove, Sand Point,
and Akutan.
Peninsula Airways
PenAir
is the largest commuter airline in Alaska, providing service to 36 communities
throughout Southwestern Alaska, and the only airline with a hub in
Unalaska. It is depended on to provide scheduled and charter service to
the surrounding communities and for support to the commercial fishing industry.
PenAir has four aircraft based in Unalaska, among them the hardy veteran,
the Grumman Goose.

Aleutian Memoir
For a brief glimpse of an incredible new book on the market, check
out this site. "Moments Rightly Placed, An Aleutian Memoir"
was authored by Ray Hudson, a noted historian, teacher and brilliant
artist who spent many years in the Aleutians learning about and helping
to restore and preserve the traditional culture of the Unangan
("Aleuts").
Unangan Faces
This project was part of a larger project on endangered tribes for
Time Magazine. The project, completed in 1991, freezes in time familiar
faces.

Haines, AK
Haines is a Southeast Alaska community on the shores of a beautiful fjord,
beneath towering mountains sculpted by glaciers, with all the charm, warmth and
friendliness of the Alaskan frontier. Haines is surround by spacious state
parks, offering some of the best camping in Alaska. The 48,000 Chilkat
Bald Eagle Preserve is located between miles 10 and 26 on the Haines
